Qin Gao is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Tsinghua University, where she directs the Institute of Human Factors and Ergonomics. Her research focuses on the design and evaluation of the interaction between human and computing systems with the aim to accommodate and leverage the perceptive, cognitive, and social characteristics of human users in system design.
Qin Gao received her BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tsinghua University in 1998, MS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Aachen University in 2005, and Ph.D. degree in Management Science and Engineering (with a focus on human factors) in 2006 from Tsinghua University.
Qin Gao currently serves as the president of the China Chapter of Human Factors and Ergonomics Society. She has been serving on the editorial board of International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction since 2010 and served for 2 years on the editorial board of Human Factors and Ergonomics in Manufacturing and Service Industries. Since 2009 and 2011, She has served on the program committee for two major annual conferences (Applied Human Factors and Ergonomics, AHFE, and Human-Computer International, HCII) in the area of human factors and HCI, respectively.
